Day 1 Toulouse France

Ok touring France and Italy sounds great! The flying takes so long! Greg and I flew separate from the rest of the group because we wanted to stay in Paris after tour was finished. After what seemed like two days of flying we are here! Toulouse is beautiful! Flew SFO/JFK/Paris/Toulouse. Made it in time for dinner and a nice walk through town and along the river. Such lovely old architecture and very nice people. Toulouse was teeming with energy as it prepared for it's big Bastille Day celebration. We found a quaint restaurant in a small alley Greg had a lovely duck (duck breast with meat so compact it looked like a steak) and I had a steak with rose wine. Then back to the room to sleep!

As Ty wrote, " It was a very fun evening and totally unplanned. We were just walking and then drinking some nice wine and having dinner. Very charming city, Toulouse (however you spell it.) Interestingly, it is the "home" of the saint San Luis Obispo de Tolosa after which our hometown is named. Unfortunately, although I haven't studied it, as saints go he didn't have his head cut off or charm snakes or anything exciting. As I've read (and not too deeply) he was a priest who died young with a father who had enough money to elevate him to sainthood. Someone correct me as I've always hoped that isn't true (but also don't really care enough to check."
